// Pink Hijab Day!//

For the month of October, we would like to highlight this PINK HIJAB DAY event happening on our very own campus of NTU! Join in our fellow NTU-ers as they don not only pink hijabs, but other pink paraphernalia as well in the movement to raise awareness for breast cancer and also raise awareness about Islam. *It’s like a subtle flashmob kinda thingy. Fantastic idea isn’t it!

This movement started in 2004 by a bunch of determined school girls in Missouri and the mission has been to “encourage Muslim women and men to participate in breast cancer awareness activities. The event also encourages the curious to ask Muslim women about their Hijabs, or Islamic headscarves.” In addition, it is aimed to also raise funds for The Breast Cancer Foundation in the respective countries alongside raising awareness.

As one of our fellow friend mentioned, rather than put suggestive “I like it on..” status that pretty much seems disconnected from its link to breast cancer (come on, what could be a more obvious connection between the ubiquitous pink colour *think pink colour ribbons* and awareness of breast cancer), wear something pink on the 27th October, encourage your friends to do the same, and remember to bring those purses along to donate to The Breast Cancer Foundation. We believe in fashion and style, but we also believe in giving back to the society and help out our fellow ladies who need our help too :)

The high-waisted pants is a look that can be modest-friendly!

You’ve probably seen them somewhere before, on the streets, in shops and wherever else, but it most likely got you thinking, can I pull off such a look? High-waisted pants are usually meant for people who are long-waisted (the ratio of their torso to their legs is higher than the average Jane) so as to make their legs appear longer as if they will go on forever and everrr. But fret not! As long as you find high-waisted pants that complement your leg length, hips, waist and the fitting/looseness of the pants, you might just be able to finally muster the courage to wear such pants!
